This article describes the Definition tab fields and the basic definition of an item. Each item should have these parameters set up.
Open the required item and select the Definition tab to view the main settings. This article divides the settings into sections for easier navigation.
Section 1: Code, sequence order and visible checkbox
Code is a unique identifier for the item in the source catalog. This field is required.
Sequence order determines the position at which items and other entities are displayed in lists. Learn more in this article.
Visible checkbox sets whether this item is visible in content browsing and search. This checkbox is active by default.
Section 2: Names
The Main field in Names section is required. It appears in search results and the content browser. Each name is a short title that may include formulas, such as configurable dimension values. Names can be localized and translated.
Section 3: Reference codes
Reference codes (refCodes) are used for integrations, they are optional and non-localized. Field values can include formulas.
Manufacturer code (manufCode) is used to identify the manufacturer.
Section 4: Descriptions
The Main description is required for each item. It is used to display additional information about the item.
Names and descriptions can be translated into multiple languages. To view or edit translations, click on the translation icon next to the field. This displays all available languages for that field.
Translations can be edited directly in the translation section for each item. Or they can be exported and imported as a CSV file. Export the file to get the column structure, add the translated values, and import the file back.

Section 5: Images
The main image represents the item in various sizes and is typically used when browsing for items. The Main image URL field is required – the largest size should be uploaded there.
Section 6: Classification
baseItemType is used to express the primary type of the item. The set of possible values is normalized.
fullItemType provides a summary of an item's classification following a normalised taxonomy. This information is complementary to the baseItemType and characteristics.
Section 7: Dimensions
These are the main dimensions of the item. The width, height and depth correspond to the exact space that will be occupied by the item in the design. The corresponding item geometry will match or be redimensioned to fit. These dimensions are often used in formulas to control assemblies of subitems.
Each dimension can include defaultValue (the standard dimension value) and range (the minimum and maximum values).
