This article explains how to use labels to organize and filter items during the authoring process.
Labels are organizational markers that can be added to items to help authors manage their workflow.
Labels are meant for authoring workflow organization only:
- To track work-in-progress items
- To flag items that need review
- To mark items by status or category
- To organize items by project phase
Labels are only visible in the Authoring Hub and have no impact on:
- Product configurators
- Design applications
- Item lists
- End-user experiences
Adding labels to items
Method 1: Add custom labels
- Open an item for editing
- In the item details, click + Add a labels
Select New Item from the dropdown list
- Type the custom label name
- Press Enter to add it
If needed, add multiple labels by clicking + Add a label again. To remove a label from an item click the icon next to the label.
Method 2: Select from default labels
- In the item details, click + Add a labels
Select a default label from the dropdown list
To view labels in the item list, click the column options icon.
Then click + Add column and select labels from the list. The labels column will be added to the table view.
Filtering items by labels
Labels can be used to filter items in the Authoring Hub.
- Open the list of the items
- Click Filters
icon
- Select labels in Field field and the required filtering operator
Enter required the label value
The system will display only items with that label
Please note that label filtering is case-sensitive. Ensure the label name matches exactly.
