This article explains the different version options for Dependency and Cross Catalogs and how they affect catalog resolution.
Accessing Version Settings
- Click the three dots next to the catalog name
- Select Catalog Settings
- View the version selection options
Selecting Versions
You can select versions for Catalog Dependencies and Cross Catalogs:
- In Progress
- Ready
- Activated
Note: If a version status appears greyed out, it means it is not currently active. Click on the required version to activate it.
How Versions Affect Catalog Behavior
The selected versions determine:
- Which versions of dependency catalogs are visible when searching
- Which versions can be added as dependencies
- How the catalog resolves cross catalog searches
- How the platform calculates dependency versions
Example: Adding Dependencies
When you activate the In Progress version in your main catalog:
- Search for dependency catalogs
- You will now see In Progress versions of available dependency catalogs (not only Activated ones)
- You can select and add these In Progress versions as dependencies
If In Progress and Ready options are not activated:
- Only Activated versions of dependency catalogs will be visible in search results
