Adding Features
The following topics will show you different ways to add a feature to your catalog.
Starter Flow
Adding existing features from Starter Catalog. Features options will not be added, you need to add after manually.
From the UI, click on + Add Feature.
Select one or more features using CTRL, SHIFT or via the checkbox and click on Use x templates.
Then it will be located within Features tab.
You may create a folder to organize them. You can find more information on how to create groups and edit them in this article How to create and edit groups.
Copy from another catalog
Ways to copy features from a read only catalog.
From the Editor, you can open another catalog to review or copy the data.
- Internal authors can see all the catalogs;
External authors should only see their own manufacturer catalogs and system catalogs (current feature that we are developing).
Click on + sign next to the already opened catalog.
Select the catalog version you want.
Copy and Paste
Select the features using the checkbox, right-click, and click to copy. This action will exhibit the same functionality as copying the data.
To paste the copied feature you have two options:

Paste here

Subitems, Features and Options, Attributes, Dependencies, Materials - if the feature depends on those things to work, they will be copied. EVERYTHING related to that feature will be copied.

Paste Special

Will paste only what you have selected.

Add Features to View
You can click on Add x Features to view in a read only catalog.
Drag and drop
You can only drag and drop a feature to copy it from a read only catalog to an editable catalog. This action should have the same effect as copy and paste here.
Duplicate
Click on the feature, right-click and select Duplicate. As the term suggests, this is a duplicate of a feature; it will copy all of the data associated with the feature.
From Scratch
Adding features from scratch.
Click on + Add Feature.
Then click on Create Features from scratch.
In this window you can edit the Name that you want for the feature, and the code will be generated automatically.
Or, if you need, you can click on the lock, to be able to edit the code. To finalize click on Create Feature
To find the new feature click on Features on the left tab.
Double-clicking on the feature will open the editor window where you can add and modify information. You can choose edit on Definition, JSON or Schema.
To add options to the feature, go to the Options tab.
Click Create Options from scratch.
Then enter option's name and click Create option.
Click on the option to open it.
This opens the option settings, where the Definition, Attributes, Dimensions, and Layers can be updated.
Click on the feature name to navigate back to the feature.

Linking Features
Below will be shown ways to assign existing features in the catalog to items.
Adding
The topics below will show you how to link the features created in the items.
To add features to an item, simply double-click on it, go to the Features tab, and click +Add features.
After that, a new screen will open, you can select one or more features and click on Use x templates.
Linking
A quick way to link a feature is by selecting the desired items, then clicking on Actions and Link Features.
A new window will open, just select the desired features and click on Use x templates.
Once added, you can view the features by double-clicking on the item and going to the Features tab.
The added Features will be in the previous tab, if you want to delete any just click on the trash can icon next to the name.
