This article explains how to use the Advanced duplicate feature to create multiple item variations with updated dimensions automatically.
The Advanced Duplicate feature allows creating multiple product variations based on a single selected dimension. This is useful for cabinetry catalogs where items need to exist in multiple dimension variations.
Example: Creating items Bl21, Bl24, and Bl27 from a base item Bl18.
Using advanced duplicate
Step 1: Select the item
Select the item to use as the base for variations.
Step 2: Configure advanced duplicate
- Click Actions
Select Advanced duplicate option
Fill in the following fields:
Field Description Dimension The dimension to update for each variation Increment value The amount to increase the dimension by for each variation Number of variations How many duplicate items to create Please note that maximum of 100 variations can be created at once. And only one dimension can be updated per duplication.
Click Duplicate to create the variations.
The new items are created with updated dimensions automatically.
After duplication, item codes, names and manufCodes need to be updated manually to reflect the new dimensions.
