This article explains how to enable additional non-graphical items in the Items List panel.
Before configuring this feature, ensure:
- CiC catalogs are available and configured – only CiC catalog items support this functionality
- Feature flag enabled – the ItemListAddItem feature flag must be enabled
Configuration Steps
Go to the Dashboard and navigate to the Non Graphical Sections area.
- Configure the following fields:
Catalog IDs (Required)
This field defines which CiC catalogs will be used to load non-graphical items.
A catalog can contain:
- Only non-graphical items
- Mixed items filtered by type (see use cases below)
Item Types (Optional)
This field filters items by Item Type. Use this when the catalog contains multiple product categories but only certain ones should appear in the Item List.
Base Item Types (Optional)
This field filters items using Base Item Types from the catalog structure. Useful when multiple item types share the same base category.
Use Case 1: Dedicated Non-Graphical Catalog
If a catalog contains only non-graphical items, only the Catalog ID is required.
- Item Types and Base Item Types filters are not needed.
Example:
- Catalog IDs: '2024'
Use Case 2: Mixed Catalog with Filters
If the catalog contains both graphical and non-graphical items, combine Catalog IDs with either Item Types or Base Item Types.
Example with Item Types:
- Catalog IDs: '2024'
- Item Types: Kitchen.Panel.Base.End.Rectangular, Kitchen.Filler.Base.Standard.Rectangular
Example with Base Item Types:
- Catalog IDs: '2024'
- Base Item Types: cabinetry.hardware
Once configured, the items will:
- Appear in the Items List panel
- Not be placed in the 3D design
- Be included in pricing and ordering
- Function as additional purchasable accessories
Important Notes
- This feature only works with CiC catalogs
- Items added through this configuration will not have 3D representations
- Carefully validate the configuration to avoid exposing irrelevant catalog items
- Configurable products are not supported as non-graphical items
Recommended Best Practice
If possible, maintain a separate CiC catalog dedicated to non-graphical items. This avoids complex filtering and simplifies configuration.
