In this article, you will learn how to discontinue an item from the catalogue and replace it with another item.
How to discontinue an item
Go to the Items tab and choose the item you would like to replace.
Click Lifecycle in the Definition tab.
The Lifecycle status of the item can be Available or Discontinued. To discontinue the item, select the Discontinued option.
How to replace an item
To replace the discontinued item with another one, go to the Items tab, choose the replacement item, and copy its code.
Then, paste the replacement item code into itemReplacementRef field in Lifecycle tab.
Click Save.
Now, the item has been replaced in the design with the new one.
How to replace multiple items
You can use the bulk edit feature to apply the same itemReplacementRef to multiple items.
To do that, choose multiple items in the catalogue, click Actions and choose Edit.
Then choose Update in Action field, lifecycle and itemReplacementRef in Field field.
Enter the replacement item code in Value field.
Then click + Add field. Choose lifecycle and status in Field field and choose discontinued in Value field.
Click Apply.
Now multiple items are discontinued and have the same replacement item.
