3d Viewer is used to view one or more items and their available geometries. In this component, we have some functions that will be explained in this article.
1- Geometries
In this section, you will see all the item geometries that are available, the main one will always be the item itself, the others are other types of geometries, such as linear paths. You can turn on or off each geometries clicking on the checkbox.
2- Visualization
Item View: item registration view.
Design View: preview of how the item would look in the grid, related to the environment.
Insertion Offset: works together with "Show reference frame" tool. It have two options "On Floor" or "On Floor/topAlign", the first will shows only the insertion point from the bottom, and the second will show de bottom and the top align point.
3- Tools
Pick background color
This tool allows you to change the background color, either by using a specific RGB or a color from the color picker.
- Show Grid
By default no grid will be inserted, but in this tool you can choose between metric or imperial grid or none
- Show reference frame
This tool will enable the insertion point of the selected item.
- Show collision box
It will enable a collision box, where you can see the boundaries of the item.
- Colorize line segments
Will enable the colors of the segments position, this tool works together with the 2D's lines, is just enable one to view the lines with the colors.
- Toggle hidden line
This tool enables a new view of the drawing, which allows you to see all the lines better.
- Turn mesh picking mode on/off
When turned on, you will be able to select specific subitems of the item, but it is not currently available in the Authoring Hub. (July, 2025)
- Apply UV checker map
This view is to facilitate texture validation and mapping.
- Show placeholders
Shows the insertion point of each subitem.
- Download geometry
Will download the selected geometry as a glb file.
